(Cleveland)- The White County School System is currently experiencing a shortage of bus drivers.  School Transportation director  Pat Schofill  told the White County Board of Education Thursday night they came out of Christmas in pretty good shape then  health and other issues caused them  to loose some staff, so now they are looking at supplementing the driver pool.

Schofill  said after the meeting ‘I feel positive about our group of drivers who are the driving force, we do have a need for full time drivers  at this point also for substitute drivers,  so I would encourage folks  if they have an interest in joining our staff to come and see us,”

For those who might have an interest Schofill says you will need a CDL license and  there is some training involved, “ it’s a process that takes four sometimes  six weeks to get completed, but we try to walk individuals and help them through it, ” said Schofill.

Right now the school system is relying on substitute drivers to help fill the immediate need.  Schofill said this is a great opportunity for someone to get their foot in the door and there are some great benefits of being a part of a great school system.
