(Cleveland)- White County government is starting off the new year with new opportunities to communicate with the public. The county now has a social media presence of Facebook and Twitter.
Thanks to the efforts of two White County college students, Shayla Smallwood and Alyssa Turner, who devoted time during their Christmas break to work on this project.
White County Manager Jason Cobb said the county saw a need to be able to push information to the citizens of White County in a fast and effective manner.
Through their efforts, they have both accounts up and running.
Smallwood said, “ social media has such a big effect on the world today and I considered this a great opportunity to work with Alyssa together.
Turner is a hospitality major in college and says this has given her a little insight into how it all works, and both agreed it will give them something extra to put on their resume.
Cobb said this will give the county an avenue to get information out in a quick and safe manner.
