(Cleveland)- The Georgia Department of Labor reports the preliminary unemployment rate in White County in  November was 2.8 percent that is up five-tenths of a percentage point from the revised October rate. 

The labor force in November was 16,716, of those 16,243 were employed with 473 were unemployed.

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in the Georgia Mountains, the unemployment rate increased by 0.6 percentage points, bringing the rate to 3.5 percent. A year ago, the rate was 2.4 percent.
