(Cleveland)- A child was killed in a two vehicle accident just before noon Monday on the Appalachian Parkway in Cleveland. The accident occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and Appalachian Parkway.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident and complete details are not available at this time.
According to reports on scene a van apparently pulled into the path a Jeep vehicle that was traveling south on the Appalachian Parkway.
White County Coroner Ricky Barrett advised that there was one fatality.
Another child was also injured and was transported to an Atlanta hospital.
The parkway was shutdown for over an hour while officials worked the accident and cleared the scene.
Additional details are expected to be released by the Georgia State Patrol later today.
