(Saute)- A new series of classes will be available this summer at the Sautee Nacoochee Center. Weather permitting, participants will create an art piece to take home while enjoying the cool woodland Native Peace Garden on the SNC campus. Classes will be held indoors if it rains.

The first class will be held on Saturday, June 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. “Flower Pounding” involves arranging colorful flowers and leaves onto a “canvas” and pounding them with hammers to transfer the color onto the fabric, creating beautiful designs.

Additional classes in the series include “Solar Prints” on July 15, “Prayer Flags” on August 5, and “Watercolor and Pressed Flower Collage” on September 9.

The fee for each class is $55 and includes all supplies. All classes are presented by Art Therapist Alexandra Cosper. Registration is required. Register at www.snca.org.  For more information, visit www.snca.org or call 706-878-3300.
