Dahlonega Man Arrested On Drug Charges

(Dahlonega)- A 65-year old Dahlonega man has been arrested as a result of combined enforcement efforts of the Cleveland based Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office and Lumpkin County Sheriff’s office.

In a news release from Mitchell Posey, GBI Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO, he said, on Tuesday, ARDEO agents and the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s office executed a search warrant in Dahlonega where they seized over one pound of marijuana packaged for distribution, scales and two hand guns.

Arrested was Alton Lamar Grimes, of Dahlonega, he was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

According to Posey the investigation is continuing.
