(Cleveland)- White County Public Safety used their drone Monday night to check on reports of someone flashing a light from atop Yonah Mountain.
White County Deputy EMA Director Don Strength, who is a licensed drone pilot, said after the county’s 9-1-1 Dispatch received several calls about the situation he used the drone to fly to the top of the mountain and check the situation. Strength said they discovered that two people were camping and that everything seemed to be okay.
Since the county put the drone in service it has been utilized numerous times with fires, searching for individuals, and other situations.
