Robert C. Hackney, age 96, of Clarkesville, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
 
Mr. Hackney was born on September 29, 1924, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Milard
and Effie Mae Box Hackney.  He was self-employed in real estate and was a veteran of
the United States Army, serving in World War II.  Mr. Hackney was preceded in death by
his wife, Virginia Jean Hackney.
 
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Valerie Hackney, Stockdale,
TX, Mark and Beth Hackney, Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim
Booth, Clarkesville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Verna Mae Gamble and Herb Gamble
(deceased); brothers and sisters-in-law, Mitchell and Jane Hackney, and William (Hal)
and Cynthia Hackney; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces,
nephews and extended family also survive.
 
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, November 15, 2020, at The Chapel
of Barrett Funeral Home. Mr. Sam Satterfield and Mr. Carl Dann will officiate.
 
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
 
Interment will be at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX at a later
date.
