Sports – The Warrior Boys’ trip up the ladder to the state title has come to an end after facing the number one ranked team in the state, Sandy Creek High School in the Sweet 16 struggle last night.

When the Warriors headed out to the court, they had focus and determination on their faces, ready to rise to the occasion. However, it was not meant to be as the

Patriots were off to an early lead that turned into a runaway victory for Sandy Creek.

Scoring was troublesome for the Warriors throughout the game as it seemed a Sandy Creek player was always there to block a shot or steal the ball away and return back down the court. Going into halftime, the Patriots were already ahead by 40 points, and by the game end, they had increased that lead to 58, with a final score of 95 to 37, Sandy Creek. The Warriors averaged just over 9 points per quarter, while the Patriots averaged almost 24.

And even as a win for White County slowly faded away, our dedicated varsity boys played well and kept their Warrior Pride for the whole game. And for the first time in almost two decades, the Warrior boys brought home a Region title and will be able to hang a Sweet-16 banner, region runner-up for this year.
