The latest figures released by the Georgia Department of Public Health list 395 confirmed cases of coronavirus in White County with 64 hospitalizations and a total of 6 deaths related to the virus.
Looking at other area counties; Hall County has 6,581 cases with 105 deaths, Habersham County 1,212 cases, and 52 deaths. Lumpkin County 417 confirmed cases with 9 deaths Union County 335 cases 7 deaths and Towns County 159 cases with 2 deaths related to the virus.
Officials remind everyone to practice social distancing, washing your hands often, and wearing a face mask when out in public in order to help slow the spread of the virus.
Doesn’t surprise me. No one enforcing safety measures. The weekends in Helen are just like any other weekend before this started. Someone needs to do SOMETHING before this gets totally out of control. And now they’re talking about bringing Octoberfest out in the streets?? Great idea said NO ONE EVER!!
