(Cleveland)- White County has been awarded a 2025 Employee Safety Grant in the amount of $6,000 from the Association County Commissioners of Georgia – Group Self-Insurance Workers’ Compensation Fund (ACCG-GSIWCF). The grant supports counties that demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting employees, elected officials, and volunteers through proactive workplace safety investments.
A news release from White County said the grant funding was used to purchase a range of safety equipment and supplies across multiple county departments. The White County Road Department received new welding safety equipment, barricades, road signage, and a headache rack to improve work zone safety and reduce hazards for field crews. An emergency eyewash station was installed in the Building and Planning Department. The county also used the funds to replace an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and added first aid kits to support faster medical response in county facilities.
These investments directly support employee safety across a wide range of job environments.

This marks White County’s seventh consecutive year for the county to receive the Safety Grant. In previous years, funds have supported safety improvements, including personal protective equipment (PPE), vehicle backup cameras, first aid kits, and specialized rescue equipment for Fire Services — all contributing to a safer and more prepared workforce.
Loss control services are provided to all members of the workers’ compensation program through Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS), a nonprofit agency operated jointly with the Georgia Municipal Association. Each member appoints a Safety Coordinator to work with LGRMS to develop and maintain safe working environments for government officials, employees, and volunteers.
